01/01/YY Date problem

Please help!!!!
I just updated to Excel 2008 and all the Date appeared on ALL previous Excel files cannot shown the YEAR correctly.

ALL date changed to YY or YYYY instead of numbers that it used to be!!!
For example: it should be 01/17/2007, but not it displayed 01/17/YYYY
01/17/07 displayed to 01/17/YY

I tried to insert a new column typing the date, say Oct 15, 2007, so i type 15/10/07, then it shown exactly 15/10/07, but when i press format cell and want to change it to different date format, such as 15-10-2007, it failed.... it shown 15/10/YYYY!!!!!!!

how could I changed them all back to display correct year?

Click on the cells you want to change.

go to Format choose cells. choose date then look at the the style you
want. example January 1999 choose it.

If its not exactly what you want choose custom the go through the list
and you'll see if you click on a sample there will be a box that you can
type in. In that box you might see when you have highlighted the next
best thing mm, yyyy change to mmmm dd, yyyy or mm dd, yy. the click okay
to get out of window and saves you changes.
Once you do this the first time it will be saved to the list of
formats you can use and you can use it from then on.
