Yes, you should uninstall the trial version of office 07 before you attempt
to install any full version of office. Esp. when you are going to install an
older version of office. Generally, the trial version cause problems with a
full version install, and particularly when the trial version is a
student/teacher version. I did not do this the first time I installed
office 07 on my laptop, which came with an office 07 trial student teacher
version. Had all sorts of problems. Even after deleting registry entries and
other tricks, the full office version still had a not for commercial use
warning in the app window borders, until I uninstalled the trial version,
did a manual clean up, and reinstalled the full office 07. In my case an
additional issue was that the Office CD I used (obtained directly from
Microsoft) came with a marketing "trial" key used to do the basic install.
once this was complete, another full key had to be downloaded from a
specific microsoft web site to convert the install to a full version.
