0ffice 2000 to 2003 calendar disabled. How do i get it back??

Trauma

I upgraded from office 2000 to office pro 2003. Everything went fine, all
service packs and updates installed without a problem. However, i cannot
access the calendar portion of Office 2003. I get the following error
message. " Unable to display the folder. Errors have been detected in the
file C:\ yadda yadda yadda . pst. " then it tells me to do the Scanpst.exe
to repair the file, not sure how that works, doesnt seem to be doing much. I
do a search and dont even find a .pst file on my system. HELP..!! i need my
calendar back or at least a way to start all over!

Thanks

the .pst file is where the data is stored, no .pst file, no data.
Either do what it says, or restore the back-up you took before the upgrade.

Create a new mail profile - looks like yours became corrupted during the
upgrade - not uncommon.

Control Panel->Mail Icon->Show Profiles->New. Do not copy the old one.

Also, for this purpose and all other security related concerns, please turn
on showing hidden files and show all extensions.

Ok, i see where it is that you want me to go. Im a bit confused as to
exactly what im doing after the profiles part. Could you walk me through it
a bit more specifically? Am i creating a brand new email account? i hope
not, am i going to lose anything that i currently have on my Outlook 2003
like contacts, recent received mail, etc?

Also, i apologize for the multi - posting, if you could explain how i will
delete the other posts.

Thanks

Creating a new mail profile is just that, a new mail profile. Use the
directions I gave you and if you have problems, post back. A new mail
profile does NOT equal a new mail account.

thanks, i tried it that way and there appears to be something goofy with my
system because that didnt fix the problem. What i wound up doing is creating
a different user profile to log on as on my computer. I use the same email
address for it, and Outlook works GREAT there, only problem is its a blank
calendar and contact template. So i either need to manually enter everything
over again on that account, or find a way to import my contact list from my
old windows login user. Most of the challenge is the volume of contacts i
have on my list. The calendar i can manually do fairly easily. Thanks for
your help so far! Any suggestions please feel free to post em here! Thanks
again!
