I am a traveling person with a laptop. I always get this message. (The error
message is "Error 80042109 Outlook is unable to connect to your
outgoing SMTP server")
You can read some of the other posts and they have the same problem without
a fix it seems. I am using OL 2007. with xp professional. On this same
laptop I used Ol 2000 without any problems. I have tried all of the tips
posted on these threads. I am in a different motel every night. Sometimes it
works, mostly it does not. The 1st thing I do now it send myself a test
email. If it sends I'm ok. If not I go to tools and let Outlook try and fix
it. Sometimes it does, mostly it does not. I have read somewhere in the
threads to set up a second e address then ytryn and send. Sometimes this
works. Mostly it does not.
I REALLY BELIEVE THIS IS A BIG HOLE FOR MICROSOFT. IT WORKED BEFORE 2003 OR
2007.
I have a company license. Meaning MS will not help me because my IT is
supposed to help me. I am the only person in the company that travele. He
cannot figure it out either.
Figuring out every ISP smtp network is impossible for me.
Another fix that has worked once in a while is delete my account and make a
new one. that works about 5% of the time.
I would gladly pay the $50 to get this fixed and I have tried. Tech support
could not fix it either.
Whats a "Mother" to do?
