0X800ccc0f Error

After the Windows updates my Microsoft Outlook doesn't send e-mails anymore.
I get the following Error Message: TCP/IP Connection was terminated by the
server. (Account ... SMTP ... Error number: 0x800ccc0f.
I checked with the internet provider the settings and with the domain host
as well. SO the configuation is correct, but this problem occurred a couple
of days ago after I installed the WIndows Update. Yesterday I uninstalled the
Windows Updates and the Microsoft Outlook was sending e-mails correctly.
Today the computer updated the Windows cause it was scheduled to do so and my
Microsoft Outlook doesn't send message again. I also increase the Server
timeout by going to Tools, Accounts, Property, Advanced and increased the
server timeout to 1,5 minutes, it didn't help, I increased it to 2 minutes,
again I cannot send e-mails. please help! Thanks a lot!

Do you have a situation where you're using a different email address than
your ISP supplies? For example, I use a @presentations.com email address,
but my ISP is SBC which has assigned me another email address. SBC, though,
blocks outgoing email from another mail server other than their own so I had
to setup my SMTP server to SBC and my POP3 server to presentations.com.

There are a few typical causes of this. Since it is after installation of a
Windows update (presumably SP2), a likely cause is that the Windows firewall
is blocking Outlook or the ports it requires to communicate with your ISP.
Check that. Another cause is that your ISP has changed the ports your
client uses to communicate. A third cause is failure to authenicate to the
outgoing server. A fourth is that you have a program that scans incoming
and/or outgoing mail and that's interfering with the communication between
client and server.

Last fall, a lot of ISPs started blocking Port 25, except to their own
servers. So you may be able to use an alternative, 587 is often one, as your
outgoing port. Check with your ISP to confirm 587 is a working alternative.

It could also be that the ISP is blocking the SMTP function, except to their
own servers. The above will fail if that's the case. Your ISP first-level are
not likely to know if they block this function or not.
