0x800CCC79 can't send e-mail

everytime i try to send e-mail either from outlook express...and also outlook 2003 i get the following message

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject: hey
Sent: 1/27/2004 11:35 PM

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

'*******@yahoo.com' on 1/27/2004 11:35 PM
550 not local host yahoo.com, not a gateway

the address is correct (for privacy reasons i have covered it up w/ *'s) i was replying to an e-mail sent to me. can anyone please help?? this is frustrating!

Many ISPs require that you be directly connected to their service (not via
another ISP,
corporate LAN, etc.) in order to send via their SMTP mail server. (They
match your IP
address against those owned by the service.) An exception is made for
messages being sent
to recipients of their service. The typical error message will be "Cannot
Relay" or "Not
Local" or "Not Gateway" or something similar. If you go into the Properties
of the email account then see if checking "My outgoing server requires
authentication" helps, you my also have to check "Log onto to incoming mail
server before sending mail. If neither of these work I would contact the ISP

Hey thanks for the advice, I tried both, and unfortunately no luck, so I will contact my ISP. Thanks again!
