I had a client that shortly after setting up IMAP for her google apps
account started receiving error # 0x800CCCDD . The issue seems to have
been caused by Outlooks NOOP command feature as Gmail wants to use the
IDLE command.
IMAP is a "LIVE" connection. This means that its going to send and
receive all the time. The problem is that outlook is also doing its
send and receive as well, this is the root of the problem.
The answer may seem to make no since but it does work. If you are
using only IMAP accounts then this fix will not change your work flow
at all. If you are using POP accounts as well then it may.
You need to turn off the auto send/receive inside of Outlook.
Tools>Options>Mail Setup> Send/Receive> Uncheck the box next to
Schedule and automatic send/receive. After that hit your send receive
button once and your all done. Mail will continue to automatically
come in and go out. If you are using POP you may need to manually send
and receive, that is the only drawback.
