I'm getting these errors after recently upgrading to SP2a.

It appears that inactive resources are causing spooler errors during
publishing.

I synchronize the resource pool with active directory monthly, and it
appears that users no longer on the network do not have Windows Accounts
listed in the resource pool, while they DO have Windows Accounts listed in
the project plans.

I've tried deleting the Windows Accounts in the project plans, but they seem
to magically reappear. What could account for this behavior?

Thanks!

I also am seeing this activity. Some of the suggestions I've read on other
message boards direct me to delete the resource from the Resource Pool. This
is directly contradictory to advice my MCS consultant gave me; he (who shall
remain nameless for now) told me to deactivate resources who leave the
company, and to NEVER delete them

Any thoughts from the experts?

Thanks!

I'm seeing the same behavior.

I've researched this on other message boards, and the advice there seems to
be "delete the resource from the Resource Pool".

This directly contradicts advice I've been given in the past by MCS, who
told me to ALWAYS deactivate resources who leave the company and NEVER delete
them.

I'm a bit confused here. Which is the better way to go? More importantly, why?

As a workaround, I just made all the inactive resource active. It seems to be
fine, with the exception of being unable to filter out the inactive folks.

I had this exact same problem. To solve:

1) Open global res pool, select resources in question
2) change to active
3) remove windows account
4) save global res and close
5) re-open global res pool, select resources in question
6) change back to inactive
7) save global res

After you open the projects resources are assigned to, windows account
will be gone.

Lesson learned here is you can't make changes to resources if they are
inactive. The projects won't look to find those changes when they are
opened.

It was a fun afternoon figuring that one out.

That makes all kinds of sense, except the Windows accounts are no longer
valid, and I can't save the resources back to the Enterprise as Windows
Authentication accounts.

Any other thoughts?
