1 letter on keyboard does not work

Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

I have been trying to use Hungarian language settings on my Word 2004 for Mac, and once I switch, only 1 letter does not work.
This is the long o, ( o with a little line on the top of it), which should be next to the delete key on the left side, in the numbers row on the top.
All the other letters work ( öüéáőúűí), expect for this o...Every time I try it, it does a jump to the previous line and it also switches the language back to English.
I have downloaded and installed all the available updates for Word 2004, I was hoping that would solve it, but no use...
Any suggestions? I am trying to translate a couple of ages from English to Hungarian, and it is very annoying and time consuming having to insert this one letter over and over.

Not the most practical suggestion, but you canuse the alt key to
generate diacritics, it appears, and then, if the next letter you type
can accept this diacritic, it will appear underneath. The acute accent/
èarka/length mark (I'm sorry, I do not know what the Hungarian term
for it is), is on e, so you can get ó by typing alt+e then o...

But you probably already knew this.
