10.1.5 Hard-to-read message addressing font

If Office 10.1.5, as in Office 10.1.4, I can't get rid of a
difficult-to-read condensed font for the "To:______" line in messages and
in the display of options of addresses that start with the same letters that
come up as I start to type in the addresses of messages.

The font is condensed and has uneven letter spacing, with some letters
jammed against each other and some with too much space between them.

I checked my font preferences and all remain the same--Verdana.

Removal of the following 3 preferences files--entourage.plist, entourage
preferences, and entourage settings--did not help.

A typical rebuild did not help. An advanced rebuild did not help.

Go to Entourage -> General Preferences, and make sure the option "Enable
Quartz Text Smoothing" is turned on. Quit Entourage.

Then, go to Apple -> System Preferences, click the "General" button, and
under "Turn off text smoothing for font sizes __ and smaller", set the
pop-up to 8 or 9. Quit System Preferences, re-launch Entourage and see if
the problem has been resolved.
