Wait....Microsoft should be a putting up more info soon.

If you are experiencing problems, then you will need to use "Remove Office",
install from the CD then apply update 11.3.

FWIW, I applied the update and have not experienced a problem.

Update 11.3?
Isn't that for Office 2004?
I applied 10.1.9 to Office X.

Remove Office, isn't that a ton of work?

I don't know a lot about removing and re-installing, is there danger of
losing any files, Entourage X e-mails, contacts or anything else?

Two updates were accidentally released, 10.1.9 for Office v.X and 11.3.1 for
Office 2004.

It does involve some work, but it's not really that big a task.

No, Remove Office will leave your files and Entourage data intact, meaning
that you'll be able to pick up where you left off when you're done
re-installing Office.

Ok, picking up where I left off might be worth a shot.

One problem though, I've searched all through /Applications/Microsoft Office
X/ and cannot find "Remove Office."

Where does that feature hide out?

You'll have to look inside the Value Pack folder on your Office v.X disc.
(Office 2004 automatically installs the application on your hard disk.) And
remember, be careful, because you can also use this tool to delete your
Office files, too, so make sure all the right options are ticked.

Oh geez, this is getting to be a not-so-simple matter after all.

What will happen if I just leave things alone and wait for the next update?

Honestly, I don't know. The guys at Microsoft recommend uninstalling the
software, but they don't mention any possible side effects that might occur
if the update is not removed. Everything might work just the way it should,
but things might also go terribly wrong. If you think the risk of running
only partially tested software on your computer is worth it, or at least
preferable to having to find the Office installer disc and being forced to
uninstall and then reinstall everything again, just let it be for the
moment. If you do not want to take any risks, however, a reinstall should be
the safest solution.

Hi Roger:

The best advice I can give you is "Do nothing at all!"

Chances are, you will suffer no ill effects at all. You have received some
bug fixes and some security fixes. The bug fixes were actually finished and
ready to go out. The security fixes were not, and should not have been
released.

That said, no bugs have been found in testing for them (yet). So it's
safest just to leave them there.

I understand that the next update to be released by Microsoft will
straighten things out (and will be a few days late because they're working
to include a script to automatically put things right....)

Cheers

Thank you John, that is exactly what I was wishing someone was going to
suggest.

Watching and waiting.
