10 digit-dialing

In Outlook 2000, I could format my contact telephone
numbers like this: 222-222-2222. This was helpful since
we have 10 digit-dialing in this area.

I have now moved up to Outlook 2003 and the program wants
to always set my telephone numbers with this format (222)
222-2222. How can I go about formatting telephone numbers
without the parenthesis, i.e., (222)? Would rather have
222-222-2222.

Thanks!

Bob

Masking of the phone numbers in Outlook is the same in all versions and is
not subject to user configuration. No version of Outlook has masked phone
numbers without parentheses, nor would those parentheses create a problem.
You need to look more closely at your dialing rules and location settings.
Those are the likely sources for your problems.
