100% Unit symbol in Gantt

Cazulu

When assigning a resource to a task, the default 100% text does not appear in
the Gantt. Is there any way to show the 100% symbol (like it does for
anything that is above or below 100%) in version 2003 or 2007?.

Cazulu,
By default a unit assignment level of 1 or 100% is not shown and this is
understood by experienced users. If you really need the 100% to show you
will need to copy the Resource Names field to a spare text field and
then manually, (or via VBA), add the 100% as required. Once you have
this, then you can go to Format/Bar Styles and set the text for normal
tasks to show the spare text field you used.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. It clarifies my understanding. However, not all end users are
experienced at understanding the mechanics of what they see in a Gantt chart.
It would be nice if Project had a simple option to turn these values on or
off as desired.

With all due respect, if they don't sufficintly understanding this,
should they be operating Project? Project *is* complicated--mainly
because data structures, computations, displays, etc. about projects are
complex.

What you could do is make a macro for everyone and attach it to a tool
bar button for launching by those users.

Cazulu,
You're welcome. I have to agree with Rob, Project is not a "routine"
application such as a word processor or spreadsheet. In order to use it
effectively, the user needs to have a solid understanding of not only
project management principles but also of the Project application itself.

Good luck with Project.
