100s "file as compressed attachment" appear on Word insert menu

Recently switched from Outlook Express to Outlook for mail etc. Since then,
each time (I think) I compress a file to attach to an email, it is somehow
appearing on my insert menu for Word. There are now literally thousands
which causes me to wait several minutes before the balance of the menu items
are visible and selectible. How do I get rid of these?
