11.2.3, no iCal after Office update and Entourage rebuild

Yesterday, I updated to 11.2.3, and enabled Sync Services with Entourage.
The Entourage calendar showed up in iCal with all my appointments, no
problem. This morning I option-opened Entourage to rebuild the database.
It's been taking longer to close recently. Now when I go to iCal, there are
no calendars showing in the sidebar, and no appointments appear. Only when I
change view options from Month view to Week view does anything appear. And
the appointments are all from yesterday. Nothing I've added to Entourage
today shows up. And if I try to create a new calendar in iCal, nothing
happens. Strange. Running Office on a Powerbook G4, 10.4.5. Suggestions?
