Shouldn't make a difference. I always download directly and had downloaded
and updated when someone mentioned the AutoUpdate for SP1 was not available.
Now that I'm updated, I have no way to check.
Did you see my announcement about the Entourage database getting upgraded?
If not read the blog article.

Thanks very much, for all the great pointers on the blog and in this
newsgroup.
With the PPC version of OS 10.5.2 on a G5, the Office 12.1.0 update went
smoothly and quickly with the downloaded .dmg from the Microsoft website.
To be safe, I not only cloned my internal hard drive onto an external but
also duplicated the pre-12.1.0 Main Identity and put it on the desktop of
both hard drives.
I installed after a Safe Mode Startup (shift-down). Following installation,
normal startup and running Disk Utility Repair Permissions once again , it
took about two minutes for Entourage to create a new database. Once that
had happened, I felt comfortable in re-activating the antivirus software and
in running other applications.
Word, Excel and Entourage have been put put through some paces and the
12.1.0 versions are working as they should.
Again, I wish to thank Daiya, Diane, Corentin and other contributors to this
newsgroup and the blog.
Respectfully, Norm
