1280 x 720 changes to 640 x 480 when composing email in Outlook 2

Each time I compose a message in Outlook 2003, the screen resolutions changes
from 1280 x 720 pixels to 640 x 480 pixels. My monitor is best seen at 1280
x 720. I can reset the screen resolution in Display, but the change lasts
for only one session of sending email in Outlook.
