1605 error in word 2003 help

I am getting a Windows Installer error 1605 when I try to search for
information in Word help (using XP). The only way to get rid of the
resulting notification is Cntl-Alt-Delete and kill the application. How can
I fix the search so I get a list of topics and not the 1605 error?
