1706 error

I have the same problem as Perry Choy. Every time I
start up any Microsoft Office program, I get a 1706
error. All i have to do is his 'cancel' and I can use
the programs, but it's an inconvenience. I can't find my
disk to simply reinstall. What can I do to fix this?
I'm not especially computer savvy.
