1and1.com Exchange & Entourage 2008 -intermittent connectivityproblems

Hello all

I have Macbook Pro - OS 10.6.2
Entourage 2008 - 12.2.2
ISP: Comcast

I have been using 1and1.com exchange email for nearly a year and am
constantly having connectivity issues using entourage 2008. At times,
the emails come thru flawlessly, but generally I get error messages
when entourage tries to connect to 1and1.com exchange servers.

I have spoken numerous times with 1and1.com customer care, but they
have yet to figure out a solution.

Does anyone have similar intermittent connection issues? any solutions
yet? help is appreciated...

I use the entourage settings as given below:
Authentication:
-Use My Account Information
--Account ID: eXXXXXXXXX (can be found on your 1and1 control panel
under MS Exchange)
--Domain: EXCHANGE
--Password: xxxxxxxxx

Server Information:
-Exchange Server: https://exchange.1and1.com/exchange/[email protected]
(Uncheck the Use SSL box that will click on underneath)

If you have public folders, then under the Advanced tab;
-Public Folders Server: https://exchange.1and1.com/public/
(Uncheck the Use SSL box that will click on underneath)

Normally. SSL is required.

If they meet the requirement, you should upgrade to v13.0.3 (it's a free
upgrade for Entourage 2008 users)

Microsoft Exchange Server: Connectivity to Update Rollup 4 for Microsoft
Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 (KB952580) or later version.

Update Rollup 4 for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 (KB952580)
must be applied to both the Mailbox server and the Client Access server
roles.

We've never had any good feedback on 1and1.com. YMMV
