Hi Don,

Install Office onto each computer according to the instructions. Then
install the updates on both computers:
http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx

After you install the updates run Disk Utility First Aid to repair
permissions. The you're good to go.

Good morning Don -

The End User License Agreement (EULA).
Allows you to install the Office Suite on a laptop and a desktop.
With the idea that you can run it on one machine or the other, but not both at the same time.
All you need to do is to do an install - Drag-and-Drop or run the installer.
Enter the CD key the same on both machines.
If you are running Office X you should update to 10.1.4.
You can get it here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...45-33a4-459c-ac9f-d5d2fba70eac&displaylang=en

THIS UPDATE MUST BE INSTALLED FIRST:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...50-ac08-4f9c-a1be-4f0c9c1f8d3f&DisplayLang=en

Let me know if you have need of further help.
Thanks,
Jon Barchenger
