I am system administrator for a database in another city.
The users in the other city are using a front end on their local drive and a
backend on a network drive.
For testing purposes, I have a copy of their backend stored on my own
network drive, same path name, so I don't have to keep changing paths and
then changing them back on my own frontend.
I've had a few problems so far. Firstly, when the users in the other city
updated their frontends with one I provided, the network connection was
unusually slow.
Now I'm getting 'Application Defined Error' whenever I try to refresh my own
links to my own testing server, even though I can open the tables without a
problem.
Anyone have an idea what the problem is? Is there a better more reliable way
to link tables other than the Linked Table Manager in Access?
