1. I have a shared workbook that we use as a problem
log. Each month we create a copy of the workbook from
the "current" log file, leaving the previous version in
the previous month's folder, clear the contents for the
next month, and use the "clean" spreadsheet. The problem
is that the workbook now takes forever to open and
update. Even going to the "who else has the workbook
open" screen takes forever to open. Is there history
that is being dragged along as we save the different
versions?
2. Occassionally in this same workbook and look to see
who else has this workbook open we see users who appear
to have had this workbook open for several months - even
other iterations of ourselves - even tho we know we have
exited properly. To correct this I simply "remove" the
user, but I'm not clear if I am losing entries that they
may have made. Is there a clean way to a.) prevent this,
or b.) cleanly correct this?
