2 problems ... Word & Outlook not working correctly!

Ryan

In the past week, I've encounted two problems with
Microsoft Office, and other Microsoft products, which may
or may not be related.

1) I purchased OFFICE XP last week and updated my
computer from the previous, OFFICE 2000. After I did
this, my WORD program screws up. Whenever I go to close
it after using it for a while, it tells me that it's
encountered an error and needs to shut down, and asks me
if I want to save the work and restart.
Like I said, it only does that AFTER I go to close the
program, and so far I haven't lost any files because I
save them before I try to close it. But what is this
error message and how do I repair it?

2) I also went to install MICROSOFT PLUS, and the
installation froze up and I had to shut down my
computer. To my knowledge, it did not fully install, but
now my computer will not receive mail in OUTLOOK.
Perhaps they are not related at all, but I'm suspicious,
based on the failure to install which froze my system,
and suddenly now my system isn't working the same.
I've checked my mail servers, and they're all right, and
working. I can also send test messages when setting up
my mail accounts, but I can't receive anything!
What happened, and how can I fix it?

1. Use Detect and Repair from under Office Help.
2. Create a new mail profile here-> Control Panel/Mail Icon/Show Profiles.

Thank you, but it didn't work.

I have already tried DETECT & REPAIR, before I even came
here, but I went ahead and tried it again per your
instructions, and it still didn't work.

I have even uninstalled OUTLOOK and then reinstalled it,
and it won't work.

Plan B?

.Recently there have been updates for word and outlook
and try to get update for your computer. Sometime you
might have to put password authentication in where you
check your mail sever settings check password
authentication it should be the first check box.
