2 questions: View text & funny preview in FP

First question: I created a website http://www.antiqueslumber.com using an
external style sheet to set the font size. In the browser if I choose View
then Text size it cannot be changed from medium. I thought that was
impossible?

Second question: I just upgraded to IE8 yesterday and this morning when I
went to make some client changes to the above-mentioned website in FP 2003,
everything looks normal in design mode but now in preview mode the tables on
the left are out of alignment. However, if I preview in browser it looks
fine. Any ideas?
