2 Sets of Numbers

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am working on a Word 2003 document. I set a section
break on the fifth page (the page I wanted to be page
number 1. I was able to get the numbering to start on
the fifth page as page number 1. However, the first 4
pages which I did not want to be numbered at all were
numbered 1 thru 4 under the default numbering format.

I am unable to find a solution that will allow me to
delete the page numbers that appear on the first thru
fourth pages.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

You need to View | Header/Footer and with cursor in section 2 next to the
page numbers, click the "link to previous" icon on the resulting toolbar to
break the existing link to the section 1 footer.

You need to toggle off "link to previous" in your section 2 header or
footer.
