I am a construction superintendent. In the past I have used suretrak. It
has a filter for a 2 week look ahead schedule that is used at the onsite
project meetings. The company I am with now uses project 2003. How can I
make a filter to show the tasks that shouild be acomplished in the next 10 or
15 working days. thank you

click the Project | Filtered For... menu item.

It will ask you for two dates:

The start of the range and the end of the range.

It will then show only tasks that either start or Finish within this
range.

I hope this helps.

I may have a project that lasts 12 to 24 months. So the start date may be 3
or 6 months ago for a task that is being worked on. Aned the finnish date may
be 12 months in the future. I just want to show a 2 week gantt chart of
activities that are or should have work ongoing in the next 2 weeks for our
progress meetings.

Brian,
I think you left out the actual filter name. It is probably obvious
but just to be sure, after Project/Filtered For select the "Date
Range" filter.

Although this method is simple to use it does require you to manually
enter both dates for the 2 week window. You could automate the
process by using two customized flag fields as detailed in the reply
to your previous post. Model the formulas to emulate the conditions
in the Date Range filter and then set up a simple filter to look for
the flags. No date entry is required.

John

Thanks I did leave that out. LOL

And true you can automate it it does only save you like 4 clicks. :)

Sorry. I took "Accomplished" to mean completed.

You could customize a copy of that same filter to also show tasks That
have an Actual Start date but no Actual Finish date. This would
basically be a combination of the one I told you about and the In
Progress TAsks filter. Look at them and then build a filter that
combines these elements and you will have what you want.

would this show tasks that may have started 3 months befor this 2 week window
and will not finish for 3 more months? I have to show all tasks that are
being worked on or are suposed to be worked on in the 2 week window.

Brian,
How about the keyboard "clicks" to enter the two dates? I get about 8
keyboard hits ("clicks") for each date.
