20 meg pst file opens up empty

Hi All,
I archived mail for a user into a pst. Windows reports the file size at
slightly over
20MB, which is about right. When I open this in Outlook, it's empty and
folder size is reported at 0.

I'm open to suggestions!

Try this :

Right click on Outlook Today, then Properties, then Advanced, then COMPACT
!!! Close Outlook and look at your file.

I bet this will solve your problem.

PS: The remaining space came probably from large e-mails or attachment
you've deleted in the past.

Cheers,

TOM

I hope JCE's suggestion does it for you. One thing though you may not know about. If a pst file is ever even tried to be opened outside of Outlook that can ruin the file for good. For example just double-clicking on a pst file can kill it. Let's hope that was never attempted. What version of Outlook is this in? Maybe you can take the pst to another Outlook installation preferably one higher in version?

Hi Tom,
Okay, so the file size is now 41k. The weird thing is I know I archived a
bunch of
emails to this pst. Oh well.....

Thanks,
