2000 Corruption and Data loss

using Windows 2000 (5.00.2195 sec patch 4) and Project
2000 (9.0.2000.0224). Project of several hundred lines,
only special column added is WBS. Save without baseline
and on occasion data is lost upon reopening, WBS does not
work (items at same indent have different number of wbs
numbers).
Thoughts?
