2002: inserting pictures dialogbox default settings

Hans

Although Windows Explorer is set to show files in a list,
while inserting a picture in a Word document, the
dialogbox always opens in Thumbnail View, which is
annoying. How can Word be forced to open the Insert
Picture from a File- Dialog box in List View and not
change back to thumbnails all the time??

Hi Hans,

On my installation, Word "remembers" the last setting. This
could be an indication that there are problems with the Word
DATA key in the Registry.

You should find an article on the mvps.org/word website
about how to remove that key so that Word recreates a new
one, with the default settings.

Cindy, I think you really must be "charmed" in this regard (the way I am
with indented text wrapping around text boxes and frames) because I don't
know of anyone else who can get this setting to stick in the Insert Picture
dialog.
