2002 Organization Chart stopped working

In Word 2002, I've been making Organization Charts, but some of them stop
"working" after about a half-hour. They begin to appear as Drawing Canvases
instead of Organization Charts, and the Organization Charts toolbar no longer
functions on them. What happened? How do I restore it to an Organization
Chart?
