2002: Webpage diagram not displayed if run from server

I am using the following:
Visio 2002 Professional
Win2k on the local development PC
IE 5.5
When I save a multi-page visio diagram as a "Web Page",
(output type is "VML") to my local development PC, the
webpages display beautifully. When I then upload
the "Save as Web Page" files that Visio created to our
Unix server, the webpage is blank except for an outline of
a square box. The webpage when run from the server
displays correctly when the Output Type is changed
to "GIF" which unfortunately also means no ability to
enlarge the diagram.

All solutions are much appreciated.
