2003 and 2007

As a consultant, I am sometimes asked to support Project, mostly 2003 which
I'm running. I recently got sent some 2007 files. I have the Service Pack
that allows me to open them read-only. But I got to wondering if I should
either upgrade to 2007 or run 2003 and 2007 side-by-side (if that's even
possible). What's the best way to support both of these versions? If I
upgrade to 2007, do I jeopardize my ability to support 2003 in any way? Can
(should) I run them side-by-side? Etc.

Hi,

I run 7 versions (because of ifferent languages and versions different
languages) but each one in a Virtual PC of its own.
I would advise not to take chances and to download Virtual PC. To my
knowledge, it is free (but you need a copy of Windows XP)

I am in a similar situation. What I did was install 2003 and made sure I had
all the updates and SP items in place. I then installed 2007 in a separate
directory using the full product, not an upgrade. They run on the same
WindowsXP box. However, I never run them simultaneously. I have been doing
this since September without problems. Jan's solution is most safe, my post
is just another opinion.
