2003 excel macro unable to run in excel 2000

I have an Excel 2003 with a macro added in. Sheet is protected but specific
cells aller the user to manually enter characters. However, when the marco
is run (set to automatically enter an 'X' when double clicked) when the user
double clicks the field, shows cell is protected. User can manually enter
characters but the macro will not function. Is this a compatability issue
that will nbt function in Excel 2000 or did I miss a setting on the 2003
document? Thanks

It might help if we could see the code you are using. There should be no
incompatibility issues

Actually, turned out not to be the code. Answer was so obvious I was looking
for other reasons. Security setting on the Excel was set to High. I reset
this to Medium and it works fine. Answer was there all the time.

Thanks
