2003 Mail Merge Using Print Area

L

Lisa August

I am new to MS 2003. In MS 2000 Excel, I had two header rows. My print area
started with the second header row and captured all of my data below. I was
able to perform a mail merge from MS Word by selecting the print area. I
have tried to perform a mail merge using the same Excel data base and Word
document in MS 2003 but have been unable to successfully merge the documents.
If I remove the first header row, I am able to merge. Do you have any
advice on whether or MS 2003 will allow a mail merge using a print area?
Thank you.

From the Tools menu in Word, select Options and then go to the General tab
and check the box against the "Confirm conversions at open" item. Then when
you attach the data source to the mail merge main document, select the DDE
method of connection. That is the method that would have been used in 2000
so should probably give you the same functionality in 2003.
