2003 make mde file

Hi All.
My 2003 Pro platform will not make an mde - just sits forever, no errors. I
have re-installed Access, and repaired installation - still no mde. The same
file (in 2000 format) make an mde OK.
any suggestions are most welcome.
:)

Will your MDB compile without any errors? Have you set the file format to
2003 format?

Yes and yes. If I copy the mde to a 2000 or 2002 platform they make the mde
OK. Just this machine, and I have un-installed and re-installed Access a few
times?
The 'make mde' process makes another mdb from the original (e.g. db1 ->
db2) but then the process hangs forever and I have to shut down Access via
task manager.

Hmm...you might try a /DECOMPILE to clear out any cob webs.

ThanksRG. Unfortunately this problem is related to the platform, not the
Access mdb. It occurs on any attempt to make a mde, and could be related to a
prior installation of .NET components, platform, SQL Express, etc.

I probably have to remove everything and re-install - something I really
dont want to do.

Decompiling would've been my first guess. Try importing the MDB into
a new MDB.
