my friends have one note 2007 and when they try to send me a file it says
that i need a converter. Is there a converter out because I can not find it
on the web site.

No. There is no way to open 2007 files with 2003. You'd have to upgrade
to 2007 or have your friends send the files as PDF or other
(non-OneNote) formats.

Try having them copy the page into Word and sending you the word file.
Then you can copy out of Word and back into your ON 03. If you choose
"Keep Source Formatting" from the Paste Options menu then it will usually
keep the outline and pictures pretty well. I can't say what it will do
with the ink. Just try it out and let us know what happens.

Grant's post got me wondering....

If you save the page as an MHT file in 2003 and open that in 2007, how do
the pages look? Might there be a conversion here that we all missed?

(My 2003 machine isn't booted at the moment. If I get a chance to try this
out, I will post back with the results.)

Now that my typos in this post have confused everyone and I have had a
chance to play, let's try that again....

Grant's post got me wondering. If you save the 2007 file as an MHT and send
that, will it be handled better? The answer is: Kind of. Save the doc as an
MHT file in 2007. Open that file in IE and copy and paste each page to 2003.
The formatting comes out a little better (which is why I suggested it in the
first place), but other than that it doesn't save you much.

If you don't need to edit the notes, I would have your friends save the
sections as a PDF and send you that. You can do that by downloading the free
Save As PDF add-in for Office 2007 from Microsoft at:
