2003 Pro Word just installed, horizontal ruler has crazy numbers

I just installed Office 2003 Pro and my horizontal ruler in Word has numbers
from 2 to the thousands! I went to tools and checked to see if it is shown
in inches and it says yes. Can anyone help? I already uninstalled,
reinstalled, and repaired to no avail.
