2003 Publish project plan: no e-mail

Mvisscher

I use the following scenario:

In Project Professional
1. Create a project plan
2. Assign proposed resources to tasks
3. Save and publish the project plan
4. Close the project plan

In Project Web Access
5. Open the project center
6. select the new project and click Build team
7. Change the Booking type from proposed to committed
8. Save

In Project Professional
9. Open the project plan
10. Check the project team: the booking status is comitted, so this correct
11. Do not modify the schedule or any tasks
12. Save and publish the project plan
13. Close the project plan

Problem: No e-mail notification is sent to the committed resources. Only
Re-publish assignments, with send an e-mail checked, will sent the e-mail. Is
this a bug?

Hi Marcel, its not a bug, just the way it works. By design, an email is sent
out when the schedule changes. A change of the booking type is not a trigger
for an email. The way around it, as you have found, is to republish
assignments with the email.
