2003 Server Problem

I can send messages through Outlook but I cannot receive messages back
though Outlook. I am running XP and Outlook 2003 with a Hotmail.com
account. My modem connection is AT&T DSL. As a temporary work around I can
sign into the Hotmail server directly, there I get normal E-Mail support i.e.
I can send and receive all of my E-Mails but I lose my Outlook data support
with this method.
This problem appeared when I tried to install Service Pack #3. The
installation got to “running processors after install†but hung up during
that operation. Via task manager I verified the process hung up on “cc Svc
Hst. exeâ€. I reported the error to MSFT, went back to a prior restore point
and have been using the work around alternative as a temporary fix.
Any suggestions welcomed.

Thanks for your quick response. I have never done a repair operation. I
searched on the term repair and found a MSFT paper "How to install or repair
and reinstall Office 2003 programs and features". Is this the procedure you
want me to use? There are two alternertives, one Detect and Repair via the
Help menu, one via Control Panel any preference from your viewpoint?

They are both the same.
