2003 server slow to save

Hello, we are using MS Project 2003 Professional and Server.
I am used to using 2002 professional without server.
Files open quickly. But saving any file seems to take 20-60 seconds, for
even small files.
Any quick tips or suggestions on what to do?

Not meaning to sound too glib here, but get used to it. Saving project plans to the server simply takes time. Lots of tables are being checked, updated and records being inserted and the only way to guarantee that happens successfully is to do it carefully. Sorry.

Now, there are cases where saves to the server take minutes to complete instead of 20-60 seconds and that is NOT normal. If you start seeing that you should definitely begin to worry.
