[2003] Time data missing in timesheet

Project Server & Project Pro 2003:

We've discovered at least one instance where a number of hours from one
resource on one day on one task didn't print on the timesheet. The 15 hours
are there (yes, a long day) when viewing resource assignments or adjust
actuals, and viewed in Project Pro. But when the resource prints his
timesheet using the Timesheet View in View my Tasks, it's not there. All
other hours for all other tasks for that resource printed fine. We don't
have any timesheet add-ons or anything else fancy, just straight "Print Grid"
from View my Tasks.

Any ideas what might be causing that? Thanks.

The Spreadsheet XML (SSXML) file generated by the "Print Grid" "Export to
Excel" feature is stored in the following location:

C:\Documents and Settings\[USERNAME]\Local Settings\Temp

It has the form:

PWAXXX.xml where XXX is some random combination of numbers and letters.
Can you generate an XML file and then open it in notepad (or an XML editor)
and find the XML node where you would expect to see the time data that are
missing from the timesheet? I'd be curious to know whether there's any text
there or all; or perhaps the generated text contains one or more offending
characters.

Can you also indicate what values you're currently seeing inside the grid in
PWA prior to doing "Print Grid"?

Thanks.

Thanks, Ken, this is helpful, but we just discovered it was a completely
different problem. The timesheet in question was using a "current tasks"
display, and the task was completed during that week (Remaining Work = 0), so
evidently it's no longer considered a "Current Task". Changing to "All
Tasks" made it show up again.

I would have expected "Current Tasks" to include any task that had time
charged to it, regardless of whether it has time remaining or not,
particularly on a timesheet. Any idea of whether that can be redefined
somehow?
