2003 truncates 2002 page names

2002 supports page names up to 31 characters. If you open a 2002 file in
2003 SP1 with a 31 character page name and then save as "Current Visio
Format" (i.e. 2003) life is good. If, however, you select "Visio 2002
Format" in the 2003 save 31 character page names appear to be truncated to 30
characters. Any hyperlinks to these pages are now broken as they remain at
31 characters. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a fix?
Thanks.

Yup, I can reproduce it - the last character is getting dropped. I haven't
installed the update for Visio 2003 yet, so I don't know if this problem is
fixed. I've never heard of it before. Looks like someone started at 1
instead of 0 or something.

Why such long page names anyway? I keep mine as short as possible so I can
see more tabs!

Thanks Chris,
Anecdotally, if the truncation would result in a duplicate page name, the
31st character seems to be retained.
My application uses 50-60 pages per document and the page names are
significant. Drawing Explorer is used for page navigation.
