2003 viewer - "End of slide show, click to exit."

Is there any way to suppress the black screen at the end of the show?
Registry hack or anything?! I use command-line switch /S to bypass the 2003
viewer splash screen, but (amazingly) it doesn't appear as if there's a
comparable switch to kill the obnoxious black slide. I've tried resaving
the file with the "End with black slide" option turned off, thinking this
option might be adding an internal flag of some kind to the .ppt file, but
no joy. Our training delivery stations do not have PowerPoint 2003
installed, just the 2003 viewer. We have dozens of menued presentations and
really don't want this black screen to continually appear. Any help would
be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Rick,

the options you choose under "Tools" are not saved with the presentation.

But there is an action setting "End show". On the last slide, draw an
AutoShape rectangle of the same size as the slide. Right click on it and
choose Action settings - Hyperlink - End show. Then make the rectangle
invisible using any fill color set to 100 % and no line (do not use "No fill
color", it will not work in the viewer).

In slide show mode, click anywhere on the slide to activate the
end-show-action.

One approach would be to add a final slide with a button labeled "End". Link
via Slide Show > Action Settings > Hyperlink to > End Show. Set the slide
transition and uncheck "On Mouse Click" and uncheck "Automatically". That way
the only way to end the show is to click the button and there will be no black
screen.
