Once I download the updates how do I tell if they are installed?

Or do I have to then find them and install them?

Hi, Bob,

If you're downloading them manually, you'll need to specify a folder for
them to be located. Then go to that folder and run them.

What would the files be named and how do I run them? (there are only 3 so
far for 03)

And once I did this how do I tell if in fact they are installed?

Hi, Bob,

If you go here, you'll see all the updates available for Office 2003:

Microsoft Office Downloads:
http://office.microsoft.com/officeu...ID=CD010224941033&CTT=4&Origin=ES790020041033

When you select one for download, you'll be prompted to save it to a
location with a particular filename. Whatever location and filename you
choose for each update is what you will need to run.

This article tells you how to determine what updates you have applied to
Office:

821549 - HOW TO: Check the Version of Office 2003:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;821549&Product=off2003

I'm sorry that it might not be as technically specific as you are looking
for, but it gives you an idea of where to look to see if your version has
been updated after a patch. The documentation on each patch may give you
details on how to determine if it has been installed successfully.

For example, the critical update for Office 2003 is verified with the
following:

The update contains updated versions of the following files:
File name Version
------------------------
Mso.dll 11.0.5703.0

This is documented in the KB article for the update. That KB article can be
found here, by the way:

828041 - Overview of the Office 2003 Critical Update: November 4, 2003:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=828041

Hope that helps--
