2004: Dock Icon Notification

K

Ken Edwards

My dock icon shows the new mail indicator when i have NO new mail. When I go to Entourage the only new mail is the mail that is filtered into the Deleted Items folder

Is there a way to (a) stop Entourage from telling me when I have junk, or (b) stop entourage from displaying that dock icon all together? I thought I could "View Package Contents" and edit the overlay mail icon that is put on the dock when new mail arrives. No can do, its not cocoa

So any ideas? It does not look like I can turn that icon off in the preferences. So am I just stuck with it

Thanks.

That's still new mail, albeit new mail in which you're not interested. The
badge appears at the first message downloaded - before it its the filters. I
imagine it would be somewhat complicated to check for mail only in
particular folders after filtering. Still, it's a frequent request here, for
valid reasons. Generally, the more people ask for something, the more likely
it will get done in future, also dependent on how difficult and
time-consuming it would be to do.

Fraid so. But if you keep "Display an Alert on my Desktop" in Notification
Prefs you can take a look at the alert when it appears and decide if it's
worth switching to Entourage for.
