2004 thinks 'FuncRes' is already open

When I open Excel 2004 (11.3.5) I get a message saying:

" A document with the name 'FuncRes' is already open. You cannot pen two
documents with the same name, even if the documents are in different
folders. To open the second document, either close the document that's
currently pen, or rename one of the documents."

This is not true; I have quit, forced quit, and turned off the computer
entirely, and it still appears when I start. Is there a way to fix this ?
Is it interfering with my macros or functions in any way ?

This is part of the Analysis too pack VBA add-in It seems like you have
referenced two different versions. Try opening Excel with the shift key
down. Then go to tools-add-ins and deselect the Analysis tool pack vba. Quit
Excel. It should now be OK when you start again.

Yes, it may be interfering with your macros and functions depending on what
you are doing.

I tried something before reading your reply, and now I've made it worse. I searched for FuncRes, found two of them, then, trying to figure out which to delete, I deleted them both. Now I'm getting the message "FuncRes' can not be found. How can I get back the one I needed ?

Thank you

Update: I got a copy of FuncRes from someone, put back a single copy, and I'm back to the original problem. I cant just turn off the add-in, though, I use VBA. Plus, now, when I go to the add-ins menu, the Analysis Toolpak (not the VBZ one) is listed as ------. selcting it again does not help. Stop me before I make it worse !

I think this is one case where deleting and reinstalling office might help.
Try running remove Office from the install disk, empty the trash, restart
the machine and reinstall. Then restart again, repair permissions and then
try it.

Ugh. There have been a bunch of updates. Is there a way to custom install
so that I don't have to go through all that updating all at once ? Are
there updates that are skippable ?

The simple answer is no. Since you have deleted some critical files, and
have others in questionable locations, I think the best approach in your
case is to remove Office, reinstall from the original disc and the reapply
all the updates.
