2004 updated apps show different versions

Charles

After running the Office 2004 11.5.2 updater (OS X 10.5.5, MacBook Pro
Core 2 Duo), I notice that the version numbers seen via Get Info are
different for each application:

Entourage 11.4.0
Excel 11.5.2
PowerPoint 11.5.1
Word 11.5.0

Are these the way they are supposed to be?

For what it's worth, I also have Office 2008 installed on the same
computer. After running the 12.1.3 updater, the version for all the
above applications is 12.1.3.

Thank you,

Charles

Additional information:

I see from a cloned drive that after the Office 2004 11.5.1 updater, my
versions were as follows:

Entourage 11.4.0
Excel: 11.5.1
PowerPoint 11.5.1
Word 11.5.0

This is typical Microsoft behavior. Right now all of the Office 2008
applications are in sync for version, but that could change with the next
update. The true test of any update is the Microsoft Component Plugin.

Download this script that will show you Office version info. Note there are
different scripts for Office X, 2004 and Office 2008. It gives the version
number for each Office application, the component plugin and your OS
version. Even if ALL the Office applications aren't updated each time, the
Microsoft Component Plugin, which isn't an app, will always show the latest
update.

Here is the latest for Office 2008:

Last update applied: Monday, October 6, 2008 7

Microsoft Entourage.app: 12.1.3
Microsoft Excel.app: 12.1.3
Microsoft Word.app: 12.1.3
Microsoft PowerPoint.app: 12.1.3
MicrosoftComponentPlugin:Monday, October 6, 2008 7:21:53 PM
Junk E-Mail Protection:Monday, October 6, 2008 7:24:41 PM
Mac OS X 10.5.5 (9F33)

Hope this helps!

Thank you for this information, which seems to indicate that my 2004
installation (Microsoft Component Plugin version 11.5.2) is up to date.
