2007 5 Second Crash

Hi there, hope someone can help me!

Word crashes within, literally, five seconds of launch. one two three
four CRASH! It's almost comical. It doesn't matter if I open a blank
document or an existing one.

I checked the module that it's supposedly crashing on, sj0dgd.dll -
searched for it, found it, went to look at the folder where it
supposedly is, and it doesn't exist. Folder or .dll.

I'm confused. Does this mean that word THINKS its supposed to be able
to find this driver, and because it can't, it dies? I tried un/
reinstalling word, to no avail. I've tried deleting every temp file
known to man.

I'm kind of at a loss here. Any suggestions?

Thanks a million in advance!

Oh, I also tried starting it in safe mode, with no positive
results.

I tried using the repair office utility with no results.

I've searched my C drive repeatedly for a normal.* and I've found
nothing. Is there some way to restore the normal template? The
instructions that I found only help if you know where it's supposed to
be. Which I don't!

Ok, I think that's everything.

Ok, so what I did to fix it was change the default printer to a PDF
virtual printer.

I'm at work, and have no local printers, so the fix of setting the
printer to something local and installing the printer driver on my PC
didn't work. SO, I just used the PDF printer, and that worked.

Totally weird, but fixed.

Hope this helps someone else!

Nothing weird about it. WOrd MUST hve a locally installed printer driver.
Either you didn't have a driver installed or you have an incompatible or
currupt driver.
