2007 Available Fields missing entries?

Hi,

In 2007, I don't seem to have a complete list of 'available fields' when
trying to confugre My Work - My Assignment view (e.g., missing fields:
Baseline Start, Baseline Finish, Baseline Work, etc) .

I suspect that I may not have the latest software version installed? Can
someone confirm that Baseline Start, Baseline Finish, Baseline Work, etc.
are/ shoulbe be available when configuring the My Work - My Assignment view?

Thanks in advance,
/Spiro Theopoulos.

The fields you list are not available in the My Assignment view. Hope this
helps.

Alas Dale,

This can NOT be... because I have another installation of MS Project 2007
running and I have and seen and added them there to My Tasks. You too must
probably benefit from an update???

By chance, do you have the Infrastructure Update applied to the other
Project Server 2007 instance? Let us know.

I will say 'prabably not'. The guy responsible for setting up the working
instance has just emailed the following:

Here are the recommended updates before
the latest infrastructure update which we did
not apply yet. Make sure they use the proper
32bit vs 64bit version from the download center
depending on what they have and not to apply the
language updates since they don’t use them.

Install Service Pack and Multilanguage pack - The public download links
are here:
• WSS 3.0 SP1 (64 bit)
• Project Pro 2007 SP1 (client side service pack. can be done later)
• Project Pro 2007 MUI SP1 (client side service pack. can be done later)
French
Language pack
• Project Server 2007 SP1 (64bit)
• Sharepoint Server 2007 French Language Pack 64bit
• Project Server 2007 MUI SP1 (select French and 64bit) French Language
pack

From the description above, I he hasn't installed the Infrastructure Update
either.

OK, so what's the difference between the two instances? That's the only
reason I can think of for seeing the difference between the two instances.
Let us know.

When we installed the Infrastructure update, the baseline fields became
available to add in the My Tasks > My Assignments view. Prior to the update,
we were also surprised that they were not available in this view.

Hope this helps,
Brian

That's why I thought about the Infratructure Update, but ST claims they
don't have the IU installed on the Project Server 2007 instance that does
have the Baseline fields available in the My Assignments view. Go figure.

I don't generally post to these groups, but since I spent 12 hours on
the phone with Microsoft Support on this very topic, I thought I would
chime in with our particular problem and their solution.

We installed Project Server 2007 SP1 and created PWA sites. Baseline
fields were not available in the My Assignments View. We then
implemented the Infrastructure Update and for the existing PWA sites,
the Baseline fields were available for the My Assignments View. In
preparation for our migration weekend, we created new, clean PWA
sites. These new sites did not have the Baseline fields available in
the My Assignments View. This was critical to our 2007 rollout so we
delayed our Go Live date by 1 day in order to resolve with Microsoft.
After an entire day on the phone, Microsoft finally gave a solution.

To cut to the chase, Microsoft had us make a direct table change to
switch a field level flag from 0 to 1 in order to make the necessary
fields available. They weren't able to provide a good explanation for
what had happened.

Here is what I think happened: The Infrastructure Update went
smoothly for all created sites. Baseline fields were available, etc.
We tested thoroughly on all created sites and were pleased with
results. But any new sites that are created, may have some bugs. I
hope that Microsoft spends some more time in the test lab.

One more side note: This particular issue is addressed in a Hotfix
released in April, before the Infrastructure Update. This did no good
to try and install because it is an earlier version than the
Infrastructure Update.

Hi Jane/Anyone,

Can you post the steps to correct this via the database?

We have the same issue and it seems that this would be the only way around.

Thanks,
Shane
